Custom Dog Tag Set made to replicate Authentic
WWII GI Notched tags issued to US Army troops during WWII, complete with two stainless notched tags with your choice of markings and ball chain set (large and a small chain).
We can stamp these tags with any information you wish up to a maximum of 5 lines with 17 characters per line, using capital letters and numbers. We make these here in the US from US materials here in our shop and your satisfaction is guaranteed! Below are some guidelines for creating authentic WWII tags as well as a link to a handy serial number generator, but remember, we can stamp anything you would like!
World War II Era Tag Guidelines:
Blood groups were marked without the Rh group as this was not yet understood (no positive or negative markings). For religious preference, the tags were marked C (Catholic), P (Protestant), H (Hebrew) or left blank for no preference.
Format 1 - December 1940 to November 1941:
Line 1: First, Middle Initial, Last Name
Line 2: Army Serial Number, Blood Type
Line 3: Next Of Kin
Line 4: Address of Next of Kin
Line 5: City, State
Format 2 - November 1941 to July 1943
Line 1: First, Middle Initial, Last Name
Line 2: Army Serial Number, Tetnus Dates, Blood Type
Line 3: Next Of Kin
Line 4: Address of Next of Kin
Line 5: City, State + Religion
Format 3 - July 1943 to March 1944
Line 1: First, Middle Initial, Last Name
Line 2: Army Serial Number, Tetanus Dates, Blood Type
Line 5: Religion
Format 4 - March 1944 to April 1946
Line 1: Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial
