    Description

    USMC Ace Lt. John Bolt
This is a nice reproduction of an original World War Two photo showing US Marine Ace Lt. John Bolt of VMF-214 standing in front of an F4U Corsair fighter at Espiritu Santo in  the Pacific Theatre.  Lt. Bolt pioneered the idea of loading the Corsair ammo belts with more incendiary ammo and eliminating the armor piercing rounds, as they were not effective against the unarmored Japanese aircraft they were fighting.  The idea caught on and was adopted by many Marine squadrons in the Pacific.  Lt. Bolt had 6 victories.
